Christian Therapy for Sex and Porn Addiction

Experienced Christian Counselor Treats Sex Addiction

We found hope again!
“Our counseling intensive gave us hope for putting our marriage back together. Rob provided us with a wealth of ways to understand ourselves, how sin effects a relationship, and pointed us back to God as the Author of healing brokenness. Since our time with Rob, he has continued to touch base with us and encourage our progress toward healing. We are grateful for his insight, his heart to see marriages restored, and his focus on The Lord. ”

Rob Jackson Rob Jackson, MS, LPC, is an experienced Christian counselor who offers brief intensive therapy for sex and porn addiction in Oxford, Mississippi.

Are you looking for a systematic recovery plan that empowers you to overcome sex addiction? With a master of science in Clinical Psychology, and twenty-nine years of experience, Rob Jackson, MS, LPC has specialized in the treatment of sex addiction since 2000. He routinely services men, women, youth, and children who have been impacted by a variety of sexual experiences including sex abuse, exposure to porn, sexting, online affairs, prostitution, and adultery.

Brief intensive therapy is  available for individuals, couples, and/or parents with adolescents or children who are willing to invest five days (Monday through Friday) in their recovery. Weekly, Rob provides an intensive for a client family that is medically stable, highly motivated, and in pursuit of significant insight and application.

Treatment Approach

Think of Brief Intensive Therapy as the fast track to healing and a new life. Rather than attempting to resolve your concerns one hour at a time, week after week, why not dig in and get it done?

By working over five consecutive days, you’re going to accomplish the equivalent of four to five months of traditional therapy, and you won’t have all that starting, stopping, and waiting.

  • Four hours of private therapy daily Monday through Friday. You can share with Rob your most personal concerns without running out of time.
  • Christian Spiritual Formation applied to recovery. Learn how to customize Rob’s nine-step  Iceberg Model of Transformation™, and see how recovery works from the inside out (from your heart to your behaviors).
  • Whole Person Care. Learn how to connect the dots between your spirit, mind, and body rather than settling for superficial behavioral strategies.
  • Psychological Testing (MMPI-2). Discover the hidden drivers within your personality, and develop an intelligent plan.
  • Handouts and homework. Customize your recovery, and return home with a personalized plan that you can measure and sustain.

Aftercare with Rob Jackson

Once home, you’re going to need to continue to cultivate your recovery. Our robust aftercare plan is one of the distinctions that sets apart our service and approach.

  • Weekly Aftercare Teleclasses. Call in every Tuesday evening at 6 Pacific | 7 Mountain | 8 Central | 9 Eastern and listen and receive a new recovery lesson, participate in the live Q&A session, and share your prayer requests.
  • Coaching Sessions by Phone, Skype Video, or Apple FaceTime. Two one-hour sessions or four thirty-minute sessions are including in your brief intensive therapy. Additional coaching sessions may be purchased as needed and scheduled only.

Beth Moore’s Living Proof Ministries

“Here’s some advice from Rob Jackson, a licensed professional counselor who specializes in intimacy disorders like these: ‘You confront because you care. Armed with knowledge that your spouse is acting out sexually, you have no other responsible option. Your information may be incomplete, but any verifiable evidence of illicit sex is enough. This could include but is not limited to viewing pornographic materials, visiting sexually explicit chat rooms, browsing adult bookstores or going to strip clubs, frequenting prostitutes, engaging in voyeurism, exhibitionism, or sexual behavior with others. Indecisiveness won’t do – not if you hope to save your marriage.

When done correctly and motivated by love, confrontation becomes an act of profound compassion. Frankly, it’s easier in the short run to look the other way. If you intend, however, for your marriage to overcome adultery of any type, you must confront if your spouse fails to confess. To quote Dr. Dobson, “love must be tough” – and consistent.

Further in the article
he sets a vital balance: In addition to love, confrontation must be centered on principle. The dialog should never degenerate into who is right, but what is right.’ To stand back and watch a spouse spin further and further out of control without ever attempting to confront, set a boundary, or permit consequences is not in his or your best interests.”

What to Expect About Brief Intensive Therapy

Before. Each couple’s needs and experiences are different, but it’s not uncommon for one or both individuals to experience an increase in anxiety as the intensive approaches. Occasionally, marital conflicts may increase as well. Should stress increase, please contact us so that Rob can help process your concerns by telephone.

During. Providing an emotionally and physically safe experience for you is my privilege and responsibility. Rob will offer you his respect and compassion. Most couples report an increase in mutual respect as well as empathy. While the intensive can be tiring, you can expect remarkable increases in insight and application.

You can plan on four hours of therapy daily during your intensive, followed by one to two hours of therapeutic assignments including reading, journaling, and processing. The majority of the time will be spent with the two of you together, but there will be time for individual counseling as needed or desired.

After. Like Christian sanctification, recovery is truly “one day at a time.” However, you can expect to know how to implement a radically different approach to life and intimacy. If follow-up with me is needed or desired, we can script an aftercare plan for you that includes telephone counseling and teleconference calls

What to Bring with You

We encourage you to dress comfortably for your intensive. In the sessions, you may want to take notes, so a couple of notebooks and pens will be helpful. Some clients have brought their tape recorders in order to capture the content of the sessions. We encourage you to bring your Bible of course.

Important Note to Parents (if applicable)

If you’re seeking help for your adolescent, experience has taught Rob that when an adolescent is in crisis, the marriage of his or her parents is typically in trouble also. Many of Rob’s client families are scheduling 30-hour intensives so that he has adequate time to serve both the adolescent and his or her parents. Obviously the adolescent marinades in whatever his parents’ marriage provides, so strengthening the marriage is foundational to serving the adolescent. If you also have a difficult marriage, let’s customize this service opportunity to meet your needs of your family system. [learn more here about our child/adolescent track]
